The calendar says it's today, and looking outside you can definitely tell! I missed last week's post, so I have a ton of pictures today.... so instead of going by date, I'm going to go by category. First category: FLOWERS. Yes, even though we got frost, the flowers are still blooming out there - especially the sunflowers, which are doing quite well and are so pretty! Not to mention there are so many different angles to take pictures of sunflowers from, so that's been fun to experiment with. First four pictures are from September 16th. Cosmo, sunflower, poppy, and a purple something-or-other that I think starts with an "L" but I'm not quite sure. Next four are from the 19th. Three sunflower pictures and a little white-crowned sparrow who was sitting in the raspberries while I photographed. And three pictures from yesterday evening. A darker sunflower, a cosmo with a bumblebee, and the bright sunflowers with a jet flying in the background. Next category: TREES AND LEAVES. These are all just random pictures I've taken in the most colourful places since the leaves started changing colours. First five pictures are of all the maples, taken on the 15th. Two from the 16th: Five from the 19th. That female pileated woodpecker nearly gave me a heart attack. I didn't know she was in the trees, and I climbed up to get a picture of a section of bushes, and the woodpecker flies up from closer to the ground - quite noisily, I might add. I was not expecting that :D And two from the morning of the 21st. Sometimes when the sun shines on the trees, all I can think of is gold. This was one of those instances. Third category: HARVEST. I only have three pictures for this category. One picture is of some beet leaves, and the other pictures are of our beautiful squash harvest. We got so many of them, especially spaghetti squash and pumpkins, which are my favourites :) Category SKIES. The left picture is from the evening of the 13th; the right picture is from the evening of the 21st. And finally, five other random pictures. The first two are of our little pond. Number three is of my brother's turkey - and this turkey thinks he's king of the world. Number 4 is of the freshly cultivated field in the morning sun, and number 5 is of a squash leaf that looked so much like a maple leaf, I had to take a picture. Have a good weekend!

All the pictures are beautiful but my favourite is the leaf. It is so perfectly centered in the frame. Love symmetry.
