I thought I had done a post at the beginning of this month, but I checked and I guess I didn't, so here's the first post of December! Here's a sunset picture from November 26th: On the morning of November 28th, somebody noticed that there were a bunch of partridges in the backyard - and with the exception of one (who appeared to be standing guard), they were all burrowing into the snow and tunneling under it. I'm not sure why they were doing that, other than maybe to look for food (or maybe it was just warmer down there), but it looked kind of funny! Sunrise on the morning of December 6th: And a bunch of ice pictures from December 9th. The previous day we'd had freezing rain and then biting cold wind, and the ice looked pretty neat - although a little murderous - on the gate chains and the spruce trees! Also on that same day, I accidentally found a couple little plants that were still green... they're pretty strong. And on my way back to the house from doing the ice pictures, I was walking near a trail of cat prints - and they stopped right where the snow had fallen off of the roof of the shop. I don't think the cat actually got buried - it looks more like the cat walked past and then the snow fell later - but it still looked funny. Two from December 12th; the first one is just of the snow. I thought it looked neat with how smooth-but-rippled it was. And then I took a picture of the sun starting to go down. That's all I have for now! Merry Christmas!

That is so interesting that partridges even burrow. Who knew? They must be looking for bugs. Interesting that you thought of one standing guard.
