Weekend Photo Dump

This time around I've mostly got flower photos.  Just a heads-up - I'm no expert on flowers; I don't know the names of most of them.  They just catch my eye so I take a photo, but they're probably not going to be captioned correctly, so bear with me 😉
All of these were taken on July 15 unless otherwise noted.
I'd noticed that there were quite a few flowers blooming all at once all over our property, so the camera came out and I went for a little quad ride and found more flowers - and other pretty things - than I'd thought I would.
First picture is a cluster of purple daisies.  They've suddenly sprung up all over and I don't know if they've been there before or not, but I think I'm just noticing them this year.
Second picture is of the same purple daisies but with alfalfa in the picture.

Next picture is a fireweed blossom, and then after that, three photos of the tiny butterflies I came across while I was taking pictures.

I don't recall if I mentioned the little sparrow's second nest in one of our asparagus plots, but she laid several eggs and then, a few days ago, I was told that they'd hatched and there were a bunch of very cute babies in the nest.  So, on my way between flowers, I stopped by this asparagus plot to take a look.
Mama wasn't around at the moment, so after I had to search around for quite a while, I took some pictures of her babies.  I counted at least five in the nest, and they were a little hard to find because Mama cleverly built her nest in between a bunch of dandelions and thistles, creating walls and a protective canopy for her babies.  I moved these leaves aside to take pictures, but I replaced them before I left.

Now we've got a photo of some wild chamomile, and a picture of different kind of purple daisy.

I found a moth sitting on a thistle bud.  With the wild raspberry bushes in the background, it made an interesting scene.

These wild raspberry bushes are all along one of our tree lines, and have been producing for a week or so.  Most of them are quite short, but they're still pretty!

And for a grand finale (of sorts), here's a photo I took on the morning of the 19th.  The sun was coming up and as it shone through the spruce trees, it hit my little glass hummingbird feeder.  With those bright pink flowers, the glass feeder, and the silvery wind chime, I thought it made a gorgeous picture.

The bird feeder picture was very pretty with its brilliant colours.
The baby sparrows were adorable.
Love all the pictures you took.
Great pass time!

Very nice pictures,Leah! So neat that you got a picture of the baby birds. The wild raspberries will forever remind me of my Mom because she used to take us wild raspberry picking in the brush rows. And there were a lot of berries! You sure captured a good shot on that last picture as well!
