New Arrivals!

Nothing can quite take the place of hearing the cheeping of a baby chick, and feeling the soft fuzz between your fingers.
     We got our chicks today, and since they grow so fast, my sister and I took some pictures of them before they start getting feathers.  (Several of them already have feathers starting on their wingtips.)  Once they start growing feathers, they don't look so cute anymore.
     So here are a few photos for you of our fuzzballs who are barely hatched!

I found it a little funny how the chicks all struggled to get out of my hands when I picked them up, yet the turkeys just sat there like my hands were the softest bed in history.  Below are two of the turkeys, just chilling out in my hands.

We have several different kinds of chicks this year, including: Red Rock Cross; Rhode Island Red; Columbian Rock; and Barred Plymouth Rock .  .  . plus a few turkeys, which are new to us, so we're looking forward to seeing how that will work!

I'm not sure what breed the black chicks are, but I'm thinking that they're the Red Rock Cross breed.
