Last Photo Friday of June...

...and "last day of June" also means "last day of asparagus"!  We've finished that job for another year, and trust me, we're all quite happy to have reached the end.



     So . . . with that out of the way, I present the last ten photos (aside from the one I'll likely post tomorrow)!
     First up are two from June 25th.  Thunderheads in the west, and the moon in the south.

Two from the evening of the 26th - left, the sun; right, a wheat head in the glow of the evening.

Three pictures from the 28th.  First the male goldfinch landed on the truck tire and sat there long enough for me to grab my camera and take a picture.  (Then I'm pretty sure he started attacking his reflection in the side of the truck.)
     Second, I was walking down the trail through the trees and the sun was filtering through the leaves and

making little spots along the trail.
     Third, I waded through a bit of a marshy area - grass as tall as I am in some places - and had a pair of red-winged blackbirds scolding me, so I must have been close to their nest.  And I happened to turn around and focus the camera just as the male blackbird flew past the sun, so the result was a neat silhouette.

     I wanted to get a picture of at least one of them in flight . . . and then I happened to turn around and focus the camera just as the male blackbird flew past the sun, so the result was a neat silhouette.
     (You can see his mate perched in the top of one of the trees in the background.)

And finally, two from today.  Left is a picture of this morning's distant thunderheads with the plum tree in the foreground, and right is a part of the garden that is now weed-free.
