I am back!  Oddly enough, I have only a few pictures even though it's been almost two months.
It's been freezing cold out here for the past several weeks.  The temperature plummeted in the middle of January, and we were experiencing your typical Canadian January/February winter - -20°C and -30°C temperatures, and a
few times it even got down to the -40s with the wind chill.
But now it has finally warmed up.  On Thursday morning, around 11:30, it was -11°C (-17 with the wind chill).  Only two hours later, my dad came inside and said it was +3°C outside, so it warmed up pretty quickly!  I went for a walk with my sister yesterday afternoon with only a hoodie, and by the time we got back to the house I didn't even want the hoodie anymore because I was so warm.
So it's definitely a nice change!  Anyway, here's the pictures I've had on my camera for the past few weeks.  First one is from January 20th.  I'm guessing what happened there is that snow was melting and dripping off of the BBQ cover, and it was still dripping when it froze.  Whatever the case, there was a little stack of ice a couple of inches tall on the deck.

On January 23rd, I had gone for a walk and was out by the pond when I saw these clouds coming over the trees.  I figured it was another snow storm and was watching the clouds.  They were really moving.  I don't think I was out there for that long, but in the short time it took me to walk out to the pond, hang out, and walk back to the house, we had gone from clear blue skies to dark grey skies.  The clouds had moved all the way across the northern tree line and were almost to the south end of our property.  They looked kind of neat though, especially with the sun shining through them, so when I got back to the house and could still see them clearly, I took a picture.

Beautiful sunset on January 27th.  Often it seems to me like some of the prettiest sunsets happen in the wintertime.

And the sunrise on February 6th.

I'll try to remember to do some more photography in the immediate future so I don't go two months without posting anything again.  (My mistake--I thought I had done a post in January.)
    Have a great weekend!

It was nice to see your post.
Those temperatures are off the charts. When it is -10* here you just can’t be out in it long.
It was good to see that sunset, and you are so right about how they are so much more beautiful in the winter if that is even possible.

The sunset picture is so beautiful! Your camera does a nice job of capturing the beauty! Our winter skies truly are pretty. The little ice stacks are funny. I always enjoy your posts, Leah. Thank you for sharing your photography!
