Time seems to have flown since last spring, and already we're launching into a new growing season. The grass has become thick enough in places that it needs to be mowed. Blossoms have exploded all over the different trees and flowers we planted last year. On Monday we picked the first brave stalks of asparagus (which ended up being part of supper that night) before flame-weeding the fields to burn off the chaff and weed seeds. And today the seeder was pulled out, hitched up, and is being taken out into the field to begin planting. But anyway, today I have a ton of pictures that will take us back three weeks, so enjoy! Rex sleeping on April 16th... cats like to sleep in the weirdest positions. Sunset also on April 16th: From April 24th: these are the first flowers that blossomed. And then the sun shining through the transparent maple seeds from last year. You know spring has arrived when you start finding spiders all over the place. On April 26th I went into the porch and looked behind the door to get my jacket, and what should I see but three spiders on the wall and ceiling above the door. We woke up to snow on April 27th... but it melted pretty quickly. (Also the sunset through the trees on the 27th) On April 28th, I went to do the chores, and when I checked for eggs, I found a normal-sized egg and a ridiculously small egg that looked kind of funny! Storm clouds moving in on April 29th: April 30th, and the field is getting disked for the first time this year! And the rest of these are from May 5th. First is just an angle I thought looked neat, of a dandelion with gravel and moss around it; then the tulips (one of them opened the next day); May tree blossoms; and then a lot of cherry blossoms. There are so many different angles you can choose with flowers like this! Dragon followed me all over the place while I was taking all these pictures, and while I was standing at the cherry tree trying to get a good shot of a bee in flight, he just flopped down and started sunning himself while he waited for me. Then I moved on to the maple trees and took a few pictures of those: Rose hips; the bright green poplar trees in front of our place; and two of the fence: And then there's Dragon, still following me as I headed back to the house after my photo shoot. (He only followed me as far as the barn; then he just laid down in the shade. I think he was hoping I would feed him...) Have a good rest of your week!

I was wondering if you noticed the fuzzy looking thing next to the white flower in the second or third picture.

The fuzzy thing is a pussywillow... those things are all over the place at this time of year 😊
