How do you tell if a garlic scape is ready to be picked? It should be able to wrap around your arm at least once 😁 There was a young buck eating one of the bushes in the back yard on the evening of July 7th. It was okay for him to be there . . . until he wandered up the hill and started eating the saskatoons, which my dad and brother love. That's when my brother chased the buck off. And we got some new grain bins on July 8th. We're just waiting for them to be erected now.

Forgive my ignorance, but how many garlic scapes, is that around your wrist? If one, it is well past ‘rrady’ ha ha!

I'm not sure how many scapes I had around my wrist in that picture, but probably 30-50.
